The St. Clairsville-Richland City School District and other school districts across the state of Ohio are participating in locating, evaluating, and identifying all children from 3 through 21 years of age who may have disabilities.
Disability, in this instance, means such conditions as autism, cognitive disability (mental retardation), deaf-blindness, deafness, emotional disturbance, hearing impairment, multiple disabilities, orthopedic impairment, other health impairment, specific learning disability, speech or language impairment, traumatic brain injury, and visual impairment.
Information may be obtained from parents, the student, or other agencies with information about the student. This information and district-level testing and assessment information will determine whether the child has a disability and needs special services. All information will be held strictly confidential and released to others only with parent permission or as allowed by law.
The St. Clairsville-Richland City School District is committed to meeting the needs of children with disabilities. If you have or know of a child residing within the district with a disability, please contact Michele Grant, Director of Special Education, by calling 740-699-2219 or by email (michele.grant@stcschools.com).
